As an author herself, Kayla knows how important this final stage of your book is. After reading your book, she’ll work with you to turn your writing into art, transforming your years of hard work into an original cover that you can hold and admire.
Basic package (1-2 months) ✨
Bespoke illustrated cover: An original, digital or painted cover artwork by Kayla Martell. This will be a one-of-a-kind piece created entirely by hand, no photo manipulation or photoshop.
Read of your book: Kayla will read your lovely book before she begins any compositions.
Goodreads review: If desired, Kayla will leave you a thorough and generous Goodreads review.
Chapter Art: A single, unique illustration for all of your chapter headings.
Dinkus (scene/section separators): A single, unique illustration for the separation of sections in your book.
Spine & back design: A unique design for your spine and back of novel. Requires the final page count to calculate spine width.
eBook formatting: Your cover ready in eBook format for publishing.
Paperback wrap: The full front, back, and spine formatted paperback wrap for publishing.
Typography & title design: Custom font selection, placement, and styling for your title and author name.
Optional extras
Individual chapter illustrations (+€200): Custom illustrated scenes for each of the chapters in your novel that embody the theme of that chapter. Allow an additional month for chapter illustrations.
Illustrated fantasy map (+€400): Custom, hand-drawn map of your world, with unique villages, towns, landscapes. All trees, mountains, shading, and villages are individually drawn (not replicated).

Process
Kayla reads your book: Before Kayla starts on your cover design, she’ll read your full manuscript to best understand your wonderful world.
Approx. 2 weeksComposition: You’ll work with Kayla to compile a list of themes, elements, and colours that you both feel well represent your masterpiece. She’ll produce compositional sketches of potential cover designs based on these reflections that you’ll provide feedback on.
Approx. 1 week
First Draft: Once you’ve agreed on a composition, you’ll receive the very first draft of your cover, where you can work with Kayla to adjust changes before proceeding to the final version.
Approx. 2 weeks
Final version: Your final version is ready for a last review. Once confirmed, paperback, hardback, and eBook publish-ready files are provided.
